Looking for a Lenten Study for your small group that combines theological reflection, personal transformation and concern for our Church? Lively discussion, grounded in a prayer heart, can strengthen community ties and renew our faith. Check out ACC’s NEW CBRR Listening Session Template!
What is this CBRR? During the American Catholic Council held Pentecost Weekend (June 9-10), 2011 in Detroit, the gathered assembly adopted the document that had been worked on by many in the months leading up to the Council. The Catholic Bill of Rights and Responsibilities (CBRR) went through multiple revisions at the behest of input from Listening Assemblies that were held across the country. The final version met with universal acclaim. Now that the CBRR is promulgated, we need you to put it into action! For more details on the history and background, go to http://americancatholiccouncil.org/bill-of-rights/
It’s Easy! Click here for your “ticket” to suggestions for easy meetings that combine praying, learning more about our Church teachings, sharing thoughts about faith and tradition, discerning our own beliefs, and working together for positive change in our Church. These sessions will help you:
- Understand the CBRR;
- Reflect on its ramifications;
- Plan ways to put the CBRR into action;
- Network with others doing the same;
The CBRR Listening Session Template organizes the process over four 2-hour sessions and groups the 10 statements of the CBRR into three logical groupings (SELF, COMMUNITY & SERVICE) to provide a cogent and convenient structure and time frame to cover the material. This series will furnish you with exciting material for dialogue and focused inspiration for action.
You Can be Part of This! As our universal Church prepares to celebrate the joy of resurrection by devoting the six weeks of Lent to deepening spiritual growth, we can participate in this process by using the American Catholic Council’s template for a series of Listening Assemblies which engage us in every level of discernment – personal and communal. You can also share feedback and experiences by posting to a related dedicated Discussion Forum on CBRR Listening Sessions on the ACN.
Why not plan now to make this your Lenten resolution?
